Welcome to the Happy Village!
Sundsberg’s maritime-flavoured residential area, nowadays also called Happy Village, is located on a gentle slope, next to a meadow and behind a dense forest, in the Western Uusimaa town of Kirkkonummi, just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Helsinki.
Already over one thousand Sundsberg residents, about 400 families, lives in Sundsberg Kartanonranta’s historical milieu, where diversiform wood houses with tile roofs form a contemporary residential community amidst the varied and rich natural surroundings of what was once one of Kirkkonummi’s most important country estates. When completed, Sundsberg will be a 2,600-inhabitants village with its own schools and business centre.
Sundsberg’s residents work actively to make their own village a more enjoyable place to live; an energetic residents’ association organises many kinds of activities that also make it easier for new residents to make friends with other villagers. There are plenty of hobby possibilities in Sundsberg, and the proximity to the sea facilitates summertime dinghy sailing and canoeing excursions, as well as wintertime skiing and skating trips.
